Main features of Q-IM

  • Generic framework for interface processes
  • Standard process steps: load, format, validation, derivation and transformation
  • Custom steps, break points and custom code can be added
  • Declarative definition of the interface mapping and code generation
  • The generated programs can be used separately from the tool
  • Integrated with the Oracle E-Business Suite
  • Clear error handling
  • Automated logging of every interface process and process step
  • Tracking of historic data of all processed interface files
Q-IM enables programmers, technical system administrators as well as functional administrators to define declaratively any interface using standard Oracle forms. The user can specify the input format, validation rules, transformation rules and destination tables and fields. With standard SQL business specific validation and transformation rules can be added and reused.

With this declaration the interface programs are generated. They can be changed to include even more specific rules. These programs always contain powerful uniform error handling and automated logging .

Every processed data file is stored in the Oracle database and can be used to trace when and how this file has been processed.
Using the declarative method of "building" interfaces even a functional administrator can change an existing interface or build a new interface without any programming or developers needed.

Tight Oracle® E-Business Suite integration

Q-IM can easily be installed as a separate application system within the Oracle E-Business Suite. The user interface is built according to E-Business Suite standards and guidelines. The interface processes can be managed using the standard request submission forms. Authorization is handled by the responsibility mechanism. The generic interface framework replaces the custom built feeder programs and makes full uses of the open interface structure of any of the Oracle E-Business Suite modules like GL, AR and AP. Feeding the open interface tables or API procedures is the last step of the interface process in Q-IM, although even post custom steps can be defined and managed.
